[2009-12-01] HSBC Bank Armenia launches Future First Toy and Book Drive
HSBC's engagement with the community rests on the twin pillars of education and the environment. HSBC's education projects worldwide give underprivileged children an opportunity for a better education and success in their lives. Without doubt, the future of any country and the economic prosperity of its citizens will rest on how well less advantaged communities fare and are able to improve their livelihoods.
Future First is a global education program (2007-2012) that runs across all 86 countries where HSBC is presented.
HSBC Bank Armenia takes an active part in the Future First programme by running long term projects. For the first time the Bank has launched its Future First Toy and Book Drive which will run from 30 November through to 21 December 2009 aiming to support charities working with underprivileged children.
HSBC Bank Armenia encourages everybody to reach out to these children and give them a reason to celebrate the festive season. Donated toys, puzzles, games, colouring books, dictionaries or story tales can be placed in collection boxes located at each HSBC branch.
We appreciate your assistance in making the New Year season bright and memorable for children!

[2009-11-18] CSR training/workshop in Aghveran
The CSR Working Group – consisting of the British Council, American Chamber of Commerce, Eurasia Partnership Foundation and UN Global Compact – organised a workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Public Relations on 16 and 17 November 2009 in Aghveran. The workshop was led by Wayne Visser, who is the Founder and CEO of CSR International as well as Research Director and Senior Associate at the University of Cambridge Program for Sustainability Leadership.
The workshop focused on the importance of sustainable business and the benefits to a company of having a good CSR strategy. Through case studies of various businesses, participants were presented with the public relations damage done to companies who had not focused on sustainability as well as the positive PR gained by those who had a good CSR strategy. Participants said that the workshop was very informative, both to those who had not thought about CSR previously as well as to those who had a working knowledge of this field. This workshop was a continuation of the collaborative efforts of the CSR Working Group, which is promoting the concept of Corporate Responsibility in Armenia.
The slides and materials of the training/workshop can be provided by UNDP/Global Compact project and other coorganizers of the event.
